Dear Board of Police Officers for Christ,

Greetings in the wonderful Name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!  I just wanted to take a few moments to express my appreciation and to thank you all for considering me to be your new President.  I want you all to know that I do not take this organization, nor the position as President, lightly.  I know that much will be required of me and the responsibility to be a great challenge.  This organization has been a tremendous blessing for me during my rookie years with the department starting back in 1996. I had the great privilege in serving as a delegate under President  Victor Hernandez. Then as time went on with a couple of years on my belt, or as we say, “time,” I was then voted on the board, with my good friend and mentor, who was President at the time, Carlos Aviles.  Police Officers for Christ have been a blessing and a beacon of light in this great department; it has brought Officers to the foot of the cross and accepts Christ as Lord and personal Savoir. “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9.  It has been an encouragement to those who are believes to run the race. “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.” Hebrews 12:1.  We need to bind together in the love of Christ and work together. For now is the time for us to rebuild this great organization with God’s direction.  This organization can only become stronger as each person gets involved, remains faithful, and serves with the same kind of attitude the Lord had when He knelt to wash the feet of His disciples.  The labor and heart of a servant is needed desperately in any ministry today that is going to have a positive impact on the community God has placed them in. You have truly been part of the vision and call, serving this organization without consideration of earthly reward or applause. Someone once said “God has three sorts of servants in the world: some are slaves, and serve Him from fear; others are hirelings, and serve for wages; and the last are sons, who serve because they love.”  Often we go on with our ministries with no thought or consideration of people like you who are giving so sacrificially of your time and love. I know there are times when it seems no one notices, but please rest assured, there is one who is keeping record … the Lord Jesus Himself!  Jesus gave the parable in Matthew 25:21 as an indication of what He is looking for in Servants, as well as the promise of reward: “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!”

Again, it would be my honor to serve you as your friend, brother in Christ, Pastor and President.

Yours In Christ,

Eddie Pinero
